Meet Our Founder, Dr. Erin Seefeldt
Driven by a passion for healthcare and a desire to make a meaningful impact, Dr. Erin Seefeldt's journey began in college, where she knew she wanted to work with the human body. Initially considering physical therapy and behavioral neuroscience, she ultimately chose the path of medicine, joining ROTC to ensure those who serve our country receive the best care.
Starting her military career in hospital administration and medical logistics, Dr. Seefeldt served in Japan, Honduras, and Germany. These experiences provided invaluable insights into the healthcare system, igniting her ambition to become a physician. Medical school was a challenge, especially overcoming her body's reaction to blood and needles, but she persevered, graduating and matching into her dream specialty, ophthalmology.
During her residency, Dr. Seefeldt collaborated with peers and elite sports performance coaches to develop a groundbreaking curriculum applying performance coaching principles to surgery. This innovative approach significantly improved surgical outcomes, combining her interests in neuroscience, performance psychology, and medical education.
After graduating, Dr. Seefeldt became teaching faculty, focusing on faculty development and performance coaching. She helped create the Lead 2.0 curriculum and became a sought-after speaker at conferences. Despite her success, she felt a disconnect between her values and the military system, prompting her to transition to civilian roles at Kaiser and eventually private practice.
Recognizing the challenges faced by healthcare providers, Dr. Seefeldt founded Physician Performance Lab to support her colleagues in navigating the complexities of the medical profession. Through personalized coaching and evidence-based strategies, she empowers physicians to thrive, delivering exceptional care without sacrificing their well-being.
